Chatshow host Trisha undergoing treatment for breast cancer

Chatshow host Trisha Goddard has revealed she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Trisha, who presents a self-titled daily show on Channel Five, had a lump removed from her breast three weeks ago and had further surgery today - but is hoping to be back at work by the end of the month. Today’s surgery will explore how far, if at all, the disease has spread throughout her body.

Husband Peter Gianfrancesco said yesterday: “She may possibly need, or choose to have, chemotherapy.”

“We are both stressed and exhausted but are trying to deal with it one step at a time.”

Her business partner Malcolm Allsop added: “Trisha does not want to feel like a sick person - she went straight back to work after the first operation.”

“Fortunately, the shows are recorded several weeks in advance so she is hoping that transmission will not be interrupted.”

“When she had her last medical last year the doctor said she had the fitness level of an endurance athlete. She is strong and will come through this, as she has with other setbacks in her life.”
