Kate MossIt looks like Naomi Campbell isn’t the only supermodel who has been inconvenienced by the luggage chaos at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5: bags belonging Kate Moss, containing samples of her new Topshop range, are said to have got lost between London and Los Angeles.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the eight Louis Vuitton suitcases (which are worth £3000 a piece themselves) contained prototypes of her currently secret autumn-winter range for the high street store and were being flown with Kate to Los Angeles for a photoshoot. Six of the bags eventually turned up but almost two weeks later, two of the bags are still missing.

A source explained: “This could be commercially devastating for Topshop. If those bags fall into the wrong hands, cut-price copies could flood the market.”

Over 28,000 bags went missing or were temporarily delayed in the first few days after the opening of the new terminal - but a British Airways source told the newspaper that while many people are simply having to wait for their luggage to turn up or claim on their travel insurance, Kate was immediately sent compensation of £10,000 and senior staff were assigned to specifically finding her belongings.

The source said: “Kate was caught up in the appalling scenes at T5 and just like thousands of other people experienced first hand the incompetence of BA. But unlike the rest of us, BA staff were fawning all over her. They paid £10,000 right away.”

Kate’s fashion range is said to have boosted Topshop sales by 10% since its launch in May last year. She is due to return to London after her two stay in Los Angeles tomorrow.
