Katie HolmesWhile everyone was happy to play up their friendship in the early days, Tom Cruise is now said to be unhappy about wife Katie Holmes‘ adoration of Victoria Beckham.

Victoria and Katie are said to have bonded during Katie’s pregnancy in late 2005/early 2006 and the former Spice Girl helped Katie develop her new chic fashionista image - but now Tom is said to be worried Katie may be taking her mimicking too far, especially as it’s been making her ill.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Katie sees Victoria as a role model. She copies Victoria’s look and even cut her hair the same way.”

“She is very thin largely because she is following Victoria’s strict 900-calories-a-day eating plan. She is copying Victoria’s fad of eating seaweed shakes, frozen grapes and edamame beans. She is tiny.”

Away from Katie’s health, Tom is also said to be worried about Victoria’s falling star. The Cruises welcomed the Beckhams to Los Angeles with a star-studded party last summer but the family weren’t welcomed as warmly into the Hollywood world as they thought they would be.

A second source added: “Tom is thinking about putting some distance between them just in case it doesn’t work out for the Beckhams in the US.”

“Even with the Spice Girls comeback, Victoria isn’t seen as a bonafide A-list celebrity, she’s more on par with Paris Hilton, famous for her self-promotion. Tom worries Katie is being pulled down to that level and that’ll have a knock-on effect for the both of them.”
