Jon Voight: estranged daughter Angelina Jolie is “terrific”

He might have bad-mouthed her back in the day but now Jon Voight is saying he greatly admires daughter Angelina Jolie.

The father-daughter pair have barely spoken since 2002 when Jon said she had “severe emotional problems” during a TV interview but speaking to Us Weekly recently, he said he thinks Angelina’s latest pregnancy is “wonderful” news: “I’m very excited, and I’m sending my love to the family. They’re getting to be a bigger family - it’s great!”

“It’s nice to see people embracing family and loving that whole process.”

“People who raise children properly are heroes to me because it takes a lot of work and when they do it with joy and love, there’s nothing more beautiful.”

Regarding Angelina’s ongoing charity work, raising awareness for child suffering as a result of poverty or conflict, he added: “I think she’s terrific. God bless her!”
