Britney Spears to pay $400,000 in legal costs for conservatorship
Britney Spears has been ordered to pay nearly $400,000 worth of legal fees to various lawyers involved with her ongoing conservatorship and custody issues.
At a hearing yesterday, Commissioner Reva Goetz ruled that Britney must continue to pay her court-appointed attorney $10,000 a month, while the firm that secured the conservatorship has been awarded an advance of $175,000. Britney’s dad Jamie Spears’ fellow conservator Andrew Wallet is also due a payment of $100,000 as he has not been paid any money since becoming involved in the case in February. Finally, a lawyer representing Britney’s brother Bryan Spears will be paid $22,500 and Britney’s new divorce lawyer Stacy Phillips has been awarded an advance of $75,000.
A source close to the case explained: “It seems a lot of money but it’s backpay in some case and advances until the end of July in others. If the conservatorship is extended after that, more mega-payments will be ordered.”
But Britney might been set to sign a new promotional deal that’ll improve the shape of both her bank balance and her figure.
A source told TMZ that the star is in negotiations to be the face of Bally Total Fitness and has been working out up to three times a day at the fitness company’s Studio City gym. She is also said to have been assigned two of the company’s top personal trainers and a leading nutritionist.
An inside source added that Britney is working out for free at the moment while the deal is still in talks - but added that she might continue to get free access even if the deal falls through: “We’re more interested in Britney Spears‘ health than her $19.”
