Pete Doherty evicted from home after destroying it
It’s perhaps a good thing that Pete Doherty is staying at Her Majesty’s Pleasure for the next few weeks as he’s reportedly been evicted from his country home.
Prior to being sentenced to 14 weeks in jail earlier this month, the Babyshambles frontman had been renting a nine-bedroom home in Wiltshire but according to the Mirror, his landlord has cancelled his tenancy after finding the property has been wrecked.
A close source told the newspaper that there was blood on the walls and floors, and the nine cats he frequently filmed for YouTube clips have been left to run wild in his absence: “He destroyed the place by scribbling on the walls, the floor, anywhere he felt like it.”
“The beautiful heavy curtains were ripped down and the cats are just running around abandoned. It’s a really pathetic state of affairs.”
“No one in their right mind is going to rent him a property after what he did.”
Last week, Pete was said to have been threatened by drug dealers inside prison - and fellow prisoners working on behalf of his dealers outside - and ripped off by former friends selling off his artwork and other belongings.
The source added: “Pete is homeless, broke and owes thousands to dealers. He’s probably better off inside than out at the moment.”
Pete was sent to HMP Wormwood Scrubs in West London earlier in the month after violating conditions of a suspended sentence and supervision order relating to a drug possession arrest last year. He moved to the home in Wiltshire last year in an effort to leave behind bad influences in London.
