Melinda MessengerMelinda Messenger has said her decision to separate from husband of ten years Wayne Roberts wasn’t spurred by any one event - and definitely not by any third parties.

The former glamour model told Hello! magazine recently: “It was my decision and it took a very long time to reach. Things weren’t right between us and hadn’t been for a long time.”

“On the surface it all seemed fine but I felt we’d lost a deep connection that I believe a couple absolutely have to have to be together.

“I know people will be wondering if anyone else is involved [but] there is no one else on either side. This isn’t about anyone else. It’s about us.”

“Two or more years ago our marriage had reached a very bad stage where we had lots of rows and fights. It was awful and it definitely impacted on the kids because [oldest child] Morgan asked me why we were always arguing with each other. It was also having a huge impact on both of us, too, living that way.”

“There was no major crisis point that caused this separation. Because our relationship still wasn’t working, despite all our efforts, I felt that this was the only course of action left to take.”
