Sopranos Edie Falco: I didn’t want to talk about breast cancer to co-stars

Former Sopranos star Edie Falco has revealed she was scared to mention anything about her breast cancer to her co-stars while she was undergoing treatment.

In 2004, Edie revealed she had been diagnosed with the disease the previous year but she told Health magazine recently that until she went public with the news, she kept it a secret from all her friends on the show: “I kept my diagnosis under the radar, even from the cast and crew, because well-meaning people would have driven me crazy asking, ‘How are you feeling?’”

“I would have wanted to say, ‘I’m scared, I don’t feel so good, and my hair is falling out!’”

“[But instead] I bucked up, put on my Carmela fingernails, and was ready to work.”
