Scarlett JohanssonDespite yesterday’s engagement announcement, don’t expect Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds to walk down the aisle anytime in the near future.

The source close to the actress told OK magazine the reason for the engagement was a compromise was to temper Scarlett’s reluctance to wed: “Get engaged now, and worry about the wedding down the road.”

“[But] Scarlett doesn’t want to get married anytime soon. So expect it to be a long engagement.”

But the source added that Scarlett’s hesitancy isn’t anything to do with her lack of love for the X-Men star: “She has said time and time again that Ryan is the one who she wants to spend the rest of her life with.”
