Jamie Lynn SpearsJamie Lynn Spears has said she had a great time at her baby shower at the weekend - and was delighted that big sister Britney Spears could attend.

Accompanied by dad Jamie Spears, Britney flew from Los Angeles to Louisiana for the celebration at the family’s Serenity estate in Kentwood on Saturday - the first time the older sister had been home for over a year and the first time the women had seen each other in months.

Seventeen year old Jamie Lynn told OK magazine: “It was wonderful to be able to spend time with her and just be girls again. We painted our nails and did stupid stuff.”

“To be able to be in the privacy of our own home and just be sisters again was wonderful.”

She added that mum of two Britney had some advice for the months to come: “She told me, ‘There are going to be some long nights, but it is completely worth it.’”

As for the baby shower itself, Jamie Lynn explained: “My mom put it all together for me. There were 20 or 30 people there - to me, it was pretty big.”

“There were mainly people her age so that way they could get me all the important stuff I need. The people my age … got me the cute stuff. I got adorable clothes. I registered for all the necessities.”

“You need your travel set and your sling. I got a wonderful sling yesterday. It is adorable, and it will put a baby right to sleep.”

But Britney didn’t bring a gift: “She has a special thing but hasn’t given it to me yet. She won’t tell me what it is, but she said she didn’t want to give it to me that day. I’m really excited to find out what it is.”

Jamie Lynn is expected to give birth - to a baby girl - at the end of June. It will be the first child for her and boyfriend Casey Aldridge.
