Madonna to sell her English country estate
Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie are reportedly done with their Lord and Lady of the Manor phase and are looking to sell their Wiltshire estate, Ashcombe House.
Madonna bought the eight-bedroom property in 2001 for £9million but will put it on the market for £12million after adding male and female gyms, a huge kitchen and renovating the property into an “LA meets England” style.
A source told the Sun the couple made the decision after hardly using the home over the last year: “She has been touring and promoting for months and not visited.”
“She still loves riding but despite many lessons is not very proficient. Her famous fall, in which she broke a shoulder, was not her last.”
“Her longing to be an English countrywoman has also faded. Having tried shooting she hates it and banned Guy from doing it there.”
“The family did have a routine of going to the Kabbalah centre on Saturday mornings in London. Then they’d travel to Ashcombe and spend the weekend riding, shooting and jogging. But it hasn’t happened much lately.”
As well as the main house, the property includes five acres of land, several cottages and two separate driveways.
The couple also own properties in New York and Beverly Hills as well as their main family home in London.
