Jo WhileyRadio One DJ Jo Whiley announced live on air yesterday that she is expecting her fourth child with her husband, Virgin Records executive Steve Morton.

During the hand over from the Chris Moyles breakfast show, Jo wore an ‘I Slept with Chris Moyles’ T-shirt and joked with Moyles that she was expecting his child.

Moments later she announced her own news on air, adding: “So to all of my mates that I haven’t managed to tell yet, I’m really sorry about doing it on national radio!”

The 42-year-old presenter, who already has three children with Morton, India, Jude and Cassius, admitted that it was “not expected”, but said she was very excited. The baby is due in October.

When asked about her health, Jo said, “I’m feeling better now, but I’ve been feeling pretty sick. I’ve eaten for England honestly - ridiculous amounts of food!”

Jo joined Radio One in the Spring of 1993. In May 1998 she won DJ of the Year at the Sony Radio Awards. From Feb 2001 Jo took charge of the new morning show, including live guests and performances from the cream of the music world.

Jo’s fellow Radio One DJ Edith Bowman, who hosts the show following hers, is also pregnant; her baby is due next month.
