Nelson MandelaThe line-up for the charity gig in honour of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday has been confirmed.

Leona Lewis, The Sugababes, Razorlight and Jamelia are amongst those who’ve agreed to play at the event in Hyde Park next month to raise money for Nelson’s 46664 AIDS charity.

Other acts scheduled to perform at the show on 27th June include Queen + Paul Rodgers, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Dame Shirley Bassey, Andrea and Sharon Corr, Eddy Grant and a number of South African and Africa performers. High-profile guest hosts are set to include former President Bill Clinton, Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Lewis Hamilton, Robert de Niro and Forest Whitaker.

Amy Winehouse is rumoured to have been approached about taking part in the gig but while she has not been named on the official line-up, organisers are keen to stress that there will be a number of surprise appearances from other performers during the show.

46664, Nelson’s prison number during his time on Robben Island, raises funds to support a wide range of HIV and AIDS projects in sub-Saharan Africa, from practical prevention programmes to care and support for those infected or affected by the disease.
