MadonnaMadonna reportedly caused tensions backstage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Maidstone this weekend.

The singer, who headlined the two day festival on Saturday, is said to have made a list of demands from the organisers, including her own VIP area backstage and to be flown to the venue by helicopter from her London home, even though it’s only 37 miles.

A source told the Mirror: “As well as her own VIP area, she had a 70-strong entourage and three dressing rooms. Her security was so tight, even hubby Guy Ritchie had trouble getting in!

“She had special Kabbalah water shipped in and demanded bouquets of white roses which remained unopened.

“While she only ate fresh fruit, the same can’t be said of her friends. They arrived early and wolfed down free food and booze reserved for the artists.

Madonna also failed to endear herself to performers by arriving late for rehearsals and forcing everyone else’s allocated time slot to be put back. All in all, most people couldn’t wait to see the back of her.”

The Fratellis’ star Jon Fratelli, who played immediately before the star on the Main Stage, was particularly annoyed, telling the newspaper: “Who does Madonna think she is?

“I’m not into all this - we’re all here to perform together. What happened to rock ‘n’ roll? Why is she even here?”

In related news, Madonna’s adoption of son David is expected to by finalised in Malawi this week.

A source told the Sunday Mirror that despite two postponements while she was busy promoting new album ‘Hard Candy’, Madonna is unlikely to attend the court hearing itself but will be in the country to sign documents and visit various projects she’s helping to fund.
