Paul McCartney & Heather Mills’ take a step closer to final divorce

Paul McCartney & Heather Mills‘ marriage is just weeks away from ending once and for all after a judge at the High Court in London pronounced a decree nisi this morning.

The ruling was made on the basis that the couple have been officially separated for two years and paves the way for a decree absolute in six weeks time, which will formally end the couple’s marriage.

Neither party was in the court this morning to hear the judgement being made and Paul’s legal team refused to comment on their way out of the court house.

Earlier this year, Mr Justice Bennett ruled that Heather was entitled to a settlement package worth £24.3million following her four year marriage to the former Beatle. They separated in May 2006 and have a four year old daughter together, Beatrice.
