pete dohertyPete Doherty has decided he’s going to celebrate his birthday for the second time this year - because he can’t remember the first one.

The Babyshambles frontman turned 29 in March but the special day was a blur because of his drug use. However, after kicking his habit during his 29 day prison sentence, he said recently: “I can’t remember the last [birthday celebration] at all. And now I’m clean I want one that I can remember.

“I would like it to be fancy dress and everything. A real party.”

Pete was released from HMP Wormwood Scrubs in West London last week and on leaving the jail showed off a certificate proving he had passed drugs tests while inside.

He added that he was spurred into getting clean after he freaked out around one of his beloved cats: “I got a shovel and was going to kill one of the cats. That was when I was, like, you know, ‘I’m a bit of a mess’. It was a bit of a crazy time.
