Jodie FosterJodie Foster has reportedly broken up with her partner of 14 years, Cydney Bernard.

The National Enquirer claims the couple broke up recently, just months after Jodie finally began to open up about their secret relationship by paying tribute to “my beautiful Cydney” at an awards ceremony.

Cydney was present when Jodie gave birth to both of her children, nine year old Charles and six year old Kit, and the boys both have the middle name ‘Bernard’ in Cydney’s honour. The Panic Room star has always refused to address or identify their paternity.

The two women have worn matching Tiffany eternity rings for the last several years and Cydney has frequently accompanied Jodie to public appearances outside of the US - but friends told the magazine that the couple have always been adamant about keeping their relationship a secret, even refusing to employ any household or childcare staff to avoid leaks.

An inside source told the publication: “Jodie breaking up with Cydney is shocking. Right now it’s the best kept secret in Hollywood, and it’s not just because Jodie is a legend and an intensely private person, either.

“She and Cydney have been together for so many years and have two children together, the potential fallout and legal wrangling from this split could be monumental.”
