Pete Doherty in talks to get regular access to his son

Pete Doherty is reportedly in process of negotiating a regular access schedule to get to know his five year old son, Astile.

Astile’s mum DJ Lisa Moorish banned Pete from seeing the boy after his birth in 2003 because of Pete’s drug problem at the time but the Babyshambles frontman has been allowed to see the child on a number of occasions over the last few years as he’s swung between rehab and returning to his habit. But after getting clean during his 29 day stay in jail, Pete and Lisa are said to be devising a plan to let the father and son have more time together.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Lisa kept Pete away from Astile because of his drug habit.

“But she cares very deeply for both of them and Lisa wants to believe that Pete really has kicked his habit so he can enjoy a real relationship with his son.”

During a court-imposed stint in rehab last autumn, Pete lamented the understandable distance put between him and his son because of his drugs problem and after reconciling with his own father, the three generations of Doherty men were able to meet together for the first time.
