Denise Richards: Charlie Sheen’s a hypocrite about daughters in the media

Denise Richards has called ex-husband Charlie Sheen a hypocrite for complaining about their daughters appearance in her new reality television show.

Charlie initially tried to legally block four year old Sam and three year old Lola from appearing on the show, which is set to debut in the US next week, but the judge overseeing their ongoing custody case dismissed Charlie’s request.

Denise has now told Steppin’ Out magazine that she believes Charlie’s protest was just a personal attack and an effort to sabotage her career: “Originally, Charlie was fine with it, and later on he changed his mind.

“I was actually confused by his reasons, because we were never the kind of couple that shielded our kids from the media.

“My daughter Sam was on the cover of People magazine when she was just a week old with Charlie and myself. When she was just 8 months old, he wanted her on his show [Two and a Half Men] for sweeps week. … So I was confused by his reasons and his actions, because he was a hypocrite.”

In further television interviews this week, Denise added she agreed to take part in It’s Complicated because it would allow her to earn money to support her family while also taking care of them - but a source close to Charlie insists the actress already gets more than enough money to live on.

The source told the New York Post that she currently gets spousal support to the tune of $60,000 a month and “$52,000 a month tax-free in child support. Most people in America can figure out how to live on that, but Denise can’t?”

The source added that she also has a share of the profits from Two and a Half Men, which will “eventually will net her up to $25million”: “[She] gets more than enough money from Charlie to never have to work, much less do a reality show that exploits the kids.”

The former couple are also engaged in a he-said, she-said argument over suggestions Denise asked Charlie to father a third child with her, through a sperm donation. Denise claims Charlie faked an email about the issue but now Charlie has “openly invite[d] her .. to sue me in a court of law” over the case if she can prove that she did not send the message.
