Sometimes I wonder if I spend too much time in the world of celebrity gossip.

I was just writing the date on a story when I had one of those panics when you realise the date is someone’s birthday but you’ve completely forgotten to get them a present or a card or even just call. I quickly ran through the birthdays of my mum & dad, brother, boyfriend, best friends etc but all turned up clear.

Then I ran through my school best friends’ birthdays since they’re still lodged in there and there are some about now but when they all came up clear, I started to really panic. Who was the unlucky birthday boy or girl??!!

Then, suddenly, I realised: it was Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s second birthday. Panic over. I guess I should send some jelly and ice cream in the post though.
