A source close to the couple, who are set to marry this evening, told the New York Daily News: “They’ve been busy working on having a baby. They have been for a couple of months.

“It’d be great if they had a son, because Charlie already has three daughters.”

The couple have invited around 60 guests to their nuptials this evening but have given them no details about the event, except that they should wear evening dress.

A source explained: “People have been told to wear evening dress and wait for a car to arrive to carry them to a secret location for the ceremony.

“Charlie’s daughters from his marriage to Denise Richards are going to take part in the ceremony but Denise herself has not been invited.”

When asked whether the couple were trying to start a family together, Charlie’s spokesperson replied: “That’s often what people do when they get married.”
