ellen degeneres and portia de rossiEllen DeGeneres has revealed she’s planning a visit to girlfriend Portia De Rossi’s native Australia to meet Portia’s extended family.

The couple announced their intention to marry earlier this month after same sex marriages were ruled to be legal in California but Portia’s elderly grandmother won’t be able to travel to the US for the ceremony.

Ellen said this week: “I’ve met Portia’s mother and her cousins, and I mentioned last night that we should go [to Australia] for Christmas [to meet everyone else].

“I can’t wait to get there. I’d like to get the show there. I’m going to push hard to make that happen.”
