The 40 year old Holby City actress, who is engaged to DJ Jeremy Healy, said recently: “I’m probably at the right age to marry for the first time in my life.

“I think it’s only now that I have the maturity I need to enter into that sort of commitment. I wasn’t really ready for marriage at 20, nor at 24.”

The couple split temporarily in April but are now back together - an incident that Patsy dismisses as nothing to get terribly worried about: “All couples experience ‘blips’ and Jeremy and I are no exception.

“I’m very much in love with him and we are very much together.

“He bought me a beautiful ring last year and marriage is very much something we were discussing, but it’s not like he dropped down on bended knee - we are taking our time about it - and there are no immediate plans.”

Patsy was previously married to Dan Donovan (between 1988-1991), Jim Kerr (1992-1996) and Liam Gallagher (1997-2000).
