Amy Winehouse’s husband admits assault & trial-fixing
Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil has admitted attacking a pub landlord then attempting to pervert the course of justice by buying of the victim in the subsequent trial.
Fielder-Civil entered the guilty plea at the start of the second week of his pre-trial hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court in north east London. His fellow defendants also entered guilty pleas for their perverting the course of justice charges and Michael Brown also admitted the assault charge as well.
Fielder-Civil and Brown assaulted pub landlord James King at the Macbeths pub in Hoxton, London in June 2006. They were originally due to stand trial for the charge late last year but were arrested in November after police came to suspect that they had tried to pay off King and asking him to leave the country so that the trial would be abandoned.
King has pleaded not guilty to his own charge of perverting the course of justice and the trial is due to start next week.
Fielder-Civil and the other men are likely to be sentenced later this month.
