Coleen McLoughlin wants sister at her side during wedding

While some members of Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin’s extended families may have loudly complained about not being invited to the couple’s star-studded wedding this week, Coleen is reportedly adamant that her little sister Rosie will play a key part in the ceremony.

After four and a half years of engagement, the couple are set to marry in Italy on Thursday and while many aspects of the event are being kept secret as part of their multi-million pound magazine deal, a friend of Coleen’s told the Sunday Mirror that the WAG wants 10 year old Rosie at her side when she says ‘I do’.

Rosie has Rett Syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder which prevents her from walking & talking, and requires her to be fed through a tube.

The friend told the newspaper: “Family means everything to Coleen and she knew how much it would mean to Rosie.

“She knows Rosie is unlikely to ever be a bride so this is her gift to her little sister.

“She wants her sister to be a princess for the day.”

Wayne’s cousin Claire Rooney and Coleen’s cousin Carly Gardiner will also serve as bridesmaids.

Wayne and Coleen flew out to the area yesterday and were spotted having a romantic moment over drinks at a cafe in Portofino, near to where the wedding will take place.
