coleen mcloughlin and wayne rooneyColeen McLoughlin and Wayne Rooney have exchanged their first set of wedding vows at a legal ceremony in Italy - and celebrated with a 10 hour party.

The casually dressed couple exchanged a pledge of “What’s mine is yours and what’s yours is mine” at the town hall in Santa Margherita, near the 16th century castle in Portofino where they plan to marry on Thursday.

The ceremony, which included the signing of a Declaration of Intent to Marry, was carried out by the town’s mayor and they were given permission for their main service after confirming there is no legal impediment to their marriage.

As the short ceremony was underway, their family and friends were arriving in the area for the main event later this week.

Guests later converged on the super-yacht hired for the duration, the Alysia, for a black-tie party.

A source revealed: “It was quite a sedate affair, people were hot and tired after a busy day. Plus everyone is saving their party energy until the wedding reception - that’s set to be fierce.”
