Angelina Jolie and Brad PittAngelina Jolie has denied suggestions that partner Brad Pitt’s new tattoo is deep and meaningful.

The actress, who has her own tattoos of prayers, proverbs and the geographical coordinates of her children’s birthplaces, told Entertainment Weekly that Brad’s ink doesn’t represent the levees of New Orleans that collapsed during Hurricane Katrina or anything else as equally symbolic.

She explained: “We went to Davos… (and) one night we didn’t have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back.

“He just liked it! The picture everybody saw was kind of awkward, but it just lines up beautifully on his back, just enhances the part of the body I like.

“I mean, it’s meaningful in that it’s us making angles and shapes out of each other’s body, that kind of a thing [but that’s it].”

In related news, Angelina has ended her three year partnership with fashion house St John.

The actress has been the face of the company’s advertising campaigns since September 2005 but both parties have now decided to call it a day.

The company’s CEO told Women’s Wear Daily: “It was a great run… Three years is a long time to maintain any campaign, and we felt it was time to do something new and different.”
