madonnaMadonna has said she’s not put off from living her life just because people think she should be settling down in her older years.

The singer turned 50 in August but she told Hello magazine recently she’s not going to be changing her form-fitting outfits for twee twinsets and pearls - or her frantic fitness routines for bridge - any time soon: “Not only does society suffer from racism and sexism, it also suffers from ageism.

“Once you reach a certain age you’re not allowed to be adventurous, you’re not allowed to be sexual.”

“I mean, is there a rule? Are you supposed to just die? I’ve never been a conformist.”

She added that it shouldn’t be a surprise that she’s still prone to diva-ish outbursts but she’s getting better with dealing with it: “What artist isn’t a control freak?

“I used to go to the recording studio and explode. I don’t explode in that way now but I have a dynamic personality.”
