The newlyweds flew back to their home in Cheshire yesterday after a five-day wedding celebration on the Italian Riveria and were spotted wearing similar platinum wedding bands. Both rings featured 50 small diamonds, arranged in two rows, but Coleen’s ring also includes a large marquise cut diamond on top. The rings are believed to have been made by a jeweller near their wedding location in Portofino.

A source told the News of the World: “Coleen and Wayne are deliriously happy - head over heels in love. The matching rings are a sign of their love and devotion to each other.”

But the Manchester United star and his media star wife can probably afford it: after receiving at least £2.5million for exclusive coverage of their wedding from OK magazine, the couple are said to have signed an additional deal, worth another £2.5million, for the first pictures of their first child.

The couple are not yet even expecting the baby but have hinted that they’d like to start a family early in their married life and a source told the People newspaper that they’re happy to make the deal now: “They were both really pleased with the way their wedding day was handled.

“They see nothing wrong with taking an extra £2.5million for photos of their first baby.

“Both Wayne and Coleen are prepared to accept everything will be done at the time of the birth to stop anyone else getting pictures of the baby.”
