The couple married at the Eastland Estate in West Sussex in front of friends and family on Saturday and unlike the other big wedding of the week, refused a magazine deal to fund the nuptials.

Jamelia wore a full white dress for the event and carried a blue and white bouquet, in reference to Darren’s years of playing at Millwall FC. The couple’s daughters Teja and Tiani took part in the ceremony.

A source close to the newlyweds reports: “It was all just beautiful. They made sure it was about them and their love and not a magazine deal.”

But an onlooker at the reception revealed that there was one awkward moment - when the DJ played Jamelia’s hit ‘Superstar’, the new bride fled the dancefloor: “She legged it when it came on. Darren begged the DJ to turn it off but he wouldn’t listen.
