Amy Winehouse kept in hospital for further tests after collapse

Amy Winehouse has been kept in hospital today after doctors were unable to identify the cause of her collapse yesterday.

The singer fainted at her East London home on Monday afternoon while “doing admin”.

Her dad Mitch Winehouse took her to the private London Clinic for tests and she was kept overnight for observation - but her spokesperson has said today that she was not released this morning as was expected.

The spokesperson explained: “She seems to be fine in herself, but [the doctors] are taking their time to be sure [of why it happened].”

A source close to the singer told the Mirror that her friends were not surprised to hear about the incident yesterday: “Amy has suffered from bulimia in the past and has lost a lot of weight lately.

“[She] is not looking after herself and is under immense pressure at the moment with Blake in prison.

“[But] this collapse was a real shock for her. When the paramedics came and checked her over she was shaking and she didn’t put up a fight when they told her she needed to go to hospital.”

Amy is scheduled to perform at the Glastonbury Festival later this month.
