Peter Andre: I want to adopt step-son Harvey
Peter Andre has said he’s like to formally adopt his step-son Harvey.
The six year old boy, who has the congenital condition septo-optic dysplasia leaving him partially blind and affecting his growth, is Peter’s wife Katie Price’s son from a previous relationship with former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke. But since Katie and Peter met in 2004, Harvey has considered the former pop star his dad.
Peter explained this week: “I’d love to adopt Harvey. If I was allowed, I would love to.
“It’s a big process and not that easy. It’s something I would definitely love to achieve in the next couple of years.
“He IS my son - he’s mine.”
The couple have two younger children - two and a half year old son Junior and daughter Princess Tiaamii who turns one at the end of this month - but Pete believes they’ll have “about seven” kids in total: “I feel we’re only half way, if that.
“All our kids, even though Harvey is six, are really under five, so when they get past that stage it gets easier.
“They all start helping each other.”
