50 Cent starting legal proceedings on baby-mama over defamation
Rap star 50 Cent is reportedly planning legal action against the mother of his child after she claimed he burned down her house.
50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, and Shaniqua Tompkins have an 11 year old son Marquise together but according to Jackson’s lawyers, the star has hardly seen the boy since the fire last month.
After a blaze destroyed Tompkins’ Long Island home, she said: “He tried to kill me and his own child. I know this came from 50 Cent.”
Jackson’s legal team are now drafting a defamation complaint with his main lawyer Brett Kimmel telling the New York Daily News: “There comes a point where you can no longer sit on your hands and listen to her spread these falsehoods.
“Besides hurting his reputation, they have a damaging impact on their son.”
He added that Tompkins has “made it practically impossible” for Jackson to contact Marquise even though he sent over a mobile phone for the boy to use: “[Tompkins] failed and refused to give the cell phone to Marquise.
“The only way [Jackson] can communicate with his son is to call [Tompkins’] cell phone. On June 11 … [she] did permit [him] to speak with his son. However … she was hovering over Marquise, monitoring the conversation and, after a short while, she interrupted the conversation by taking the phone from Marquise and began yelling at [Jackson].”
Kimmel says her behaviour is a “willful violation” of their custody agreement.
