Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey AldridgeJamie Lynn Spears has reportedly given birth to a baby girl this morning.

Yesterday the 17 year old actress’ older sister Britney Spears, accompanied by their dad Jamie Spears and brother Bryan took a commercial flight from Los Angeles to New Orleans when they found out that the birth was imminent.

According to People magazine, the baby was born around 9:30am this morning (local time) in a Mississippi hospital, close to the family’s Louisiana hometown of Kentwood.

Jamie Lynn is said to have been joined in the delivery room by fiancé Casey Aldridge, while her own mum Lynne Spears waited at the hospital with Britney and Jamie.

People claims the couple have called their daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge and quoted a source as saying “everyone is healthy and happy”.

Jamie-Lynn was just 16 when she announced her pregnancy last December and has been based at Serenity, Britney’s estate in Kentwood, for the last few months, getting ready for the birth and studying for her high school equivalence diploma. However, she recently moved half an hour’s drive away, into a new four bedroom home in Liberty, Mississippi, with Casey.

Britney has reportedly helped fund the nursery for the new arrival, which Jamie-Lynn has designed with have a pink, brown and “silver-green” colour scheme.
