Rhys Ifans told off by police after throwing bottle at paparazzi
Rhys Ifans was told off by a police officer in Soho last night after throwing a beer bottle at a crowd of photographers.
The actor was leaving the Hoping Foundation Benefit Evening at jazz club Ronnie Scott’s when, complaining about the attention, he threw the bottle. According to onlookers, the bottle narrowly avoided hitting the paparazzi and sprayed other nearby people with glass when it smashed on the pavement.
Police were called to the incident but after a brief conversation, Rhys and his friends were allowed to go without charge.
A source explained: “Rhys was lucky it didn’t hit anyone - it would have been a lot more serious if it had.
“As it was, the police recognised that the photographers were bothering him and just warned him to restrain himself a bit more in the future.”
