jamie lynn spearsJamie Lynn Spears’s new daughter Maddie Briann has spent her first night at home after mum and baby were discharged from hospital yesterday morning.

The 17 year old actress delivered her daughter on Thursday morning (local time) at a hospital in McComb, Mississippi, just across the state line from the family’s hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. Jamie Lynn and her fiancé Casey Aldridge recently bought a four bedroom property in nearby Liberty, Mississippi, and the new family were given a police escort to take Maddie to her new home.

A source at the hospital told People magazine: “They’re doing terrific. The baby’s got 10 fingers and 10 toes … and a full head of hair. She’s long, a tall baby, and she weighs 7lbs 11oz.”

All of Jamie Lynn’s immediate family, including big sister Britney Spears, were at the hospital for the arrival but Britney and dad Jamie Spears flew back to Los Angeles on Friday night after meeting their new niece/granddaughter.

A source close to the family explained: “They wanted to be there for Jamie Lynn but after welcoming the baby, decided it would be best to leave the new family alone to get used to each other.

“[Britney and Jamie Lynn’s mum] Lynne Spears will be on hand for as long as necessary but Britney wanted to get back to LA and her own life.”
