The pair were approached after enjoying a George Michael gig at the MGM Grand Hotel and an fellow tourist told the Sun: “It was a real shock to see Wayne Rooney at a George Michael concert. I recognised him straight away. He and Coleen loved it, they stayed right until the end.

“A lot of American celebrities who were there left early. But Wayne and Coleen were happy to pose for pictures and sign autographs.”

The couple then went onto the Tryst nightclub and engaged in behaviour more fitting for newlyweds: “They couldn’t keep their hands off each other. To most people they were just a normal young couple in love, but a few Brits spotted him and began chanting, ‘Rooney, Rooney’.

“He was telling people how much he was enjoying being married.”

The couple married in Italy earlier in the month and headed to Vegas at the weekend after a week’s beach holiday. They are expected to return to the UK later in the week.
