Mark Ronson paid £1million for 45 minute birthday gig
It seems like you’re a nobody on the current pop scene unless you’ve been offered a seven-figure sum for a short private gig: following in the footsteps of Amy Winehouse and Robbie Williams, Mark Ronson reportedly got paid £1million for a 45 minute performance at a private 21st birthday party at the weekend.
Mark was a surprise performer at the rumoured £4million event to celebrate the birthday of haulage heiress Freya Dawson, whose dad Peter Dawson is estimated to be worth around £250million. The party, held in the grounds fo the family’s Cotswolds mansion in the biggest big top available for hire in Europe, was attended by around 500 guests and as well as Mark, a purpose-built nightclub, circus and casino, the event also included an extravagant fireworks display.
A guest told the Mirror: “I’ve never known anything like it. The party was the type of thing reserved for royalty.
“The food was first-class, there was plenty of booze and Mark Ronson was great. All the girls were thrilled when they saw him come out - he was lucky to get out of there alive!
“His set was amazing and worth every penny. The entire party all crushed into the tent and he had everyone up dancing.
“Freya was thrilled when Mark sang Happy Birthday to her - it was her dream come true. The fireworks at the end were just spectacular, too.”
