heather locklearHeather Locklear has checked herself in a medical facility in Arizona to receive help for psychological issues.

A spokesperson for the actress told People magazine: “Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression.

“She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment.

“This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released.”

Earlier this year, a doctor apparently working for Heather called US emergency number 911 and told an operator: “I have a patient and I have a feeling she’s suicidal.”

Paramedics were sent to Heather’s house to make sure she had not overdosed on depression medication but were satisfied she was no in danger so left after 10 minutes.

A source close to the one-time Dynasty and Melrose Place star added that Heather has been struggling with depression since the end of her marriage to Richie Sambora in 2005.

Her current boyfriend Jack Wagner, who has been dating the star for just over a year, said that he fully supports Heather’s decision to enter treatment: “Anyone who has the courage to seek help in order to live a healthy life gets my support 110 percent.”
