Tamzin Outhwaite gives birth to a baby girl

Tamzin Outhwaite has given birth to her long-awaited first child, a baby girl.

A spokeperson for the former Eastenders star confirmed yesterday that Tamzin and husband Tom Ellis welcomed daughter Florence Elsie Ellis last week.

The spokesperson did not give any further details about the birth but a source close to the couple added that both Tamzin and Florence were “doing just great” and that new dad Tom is “very proud of his girls”.

Tamzin and Tom married in June 2006 after a year of dating and earlier this year, Tamzin said she didn’t think she’d have been “quite as ready” for marriage and babies with him if she’s met him when she was younger: “If I was still 20-something, I might feel like being pregnant was intruding on my lifestyle. But at this age I don’t. In fact, I was partied out well before that. I’ve been quite a homely kind of person for a while now. I think it’s a natural progression.”

Tom has another daughter, Nora, from a previous relationship.
