madonna and guy ritchieGuy Ritchie has reportedly vowed to do all he can to save his troubled married to Madonna for the sake of the couple’s children, particularly their son Rocco - his only biological child.

The couple, who have been rumoured to have been having marital difficulties for some time, are said to have reached crisis point recently with Madonna meeting with top divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton and taking the children on an extended visit to New York as a trial separation.

But a source told the Sunday Mirror that Guy is doing all he can to avoid a divorce: “He [has] admitted there are problems and deep frustrations in the relationship. They have been living much of the time apart - something Guy attributes to work pressures.

“But he categorically denies that he will go along with a divorce. He refuses to risk losing full contact with Rocco - or putting his son through a break-up. The £50million he could receive from a divorce settlement pales into insignificance compared to his love for his son.

“Even if the couple have to live separate lives under the same roof, he wants the family to stay as one. He is looking to compromise.

“But Madonna can be very stubborn and ruthless once she has made up her mind. However, she would always want Guy to play a full role in their child’s life.”

Madonna and her three children, along with daughter Lourdes’ biological father Carlos Leon, were spotted visiting the Kabbalah Centre in New York on Friday night for Sabbath services then again on Saturday for more services and a bat mitzvah.

According to the Sun, Guy is planning to fly over there early this week to see the children and his estranged wife. Another source close to the couple told the newspaper: “At the moment they are both trying to rescue the situation.

“[Madonna] has shown a willingness to patch things up [but] Guy thinks she’s not sacrificing much.

“He has now decided to fly out there this weekend to try to sort things out.”

Guy’s mum Lady Amber Leighton confirmed her son’s travel plans to the Mail on Sunday but said that when she spoke to him on Friday, there was no mention of divorce: “There’s no conversation about divorce because there is no divorce.

“That is not a couple splitting up. I’ll say it one more time, they are not getting divorced; the speculation is TT - that’s total tosh.”
