madonna and guy ritchieAmidst denials that a divorce is in the offing, Madonna and Guy Ritchie have reportedly instructed their accountants to get their financial records in order ahead of a possible split.

A source told the Mirror: “[Accountany firm] MGR have been warned they will have a busy time in the next few months as they go through the books.

“They will have to prepare documents on what [Madonna and Guy] own separately and what they share together so the lawyers can work out what kind of settlement they will be awarded.

“With the huge payout which is being banded about, the lawyers will want to go through the assets with a fine-tooth comb.

Madonna seems to be sticking to her guns and will want this done as swiftly as possible. .. Neither of them want to make this situation any more difficult than it already is.”

Guy flew to New York yesterday to discuss the situation with his wife and see the couple’s three children. Last week, sources claimed that Madonna was already in talks with top divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton but the couple were unlikely to formally announce their plans to split until the end of Madonna’s forthcoming Sticky and Sweet tour.

Madonna’s spokesperson Liz Rosenberg has denied the rumours today, saying: “Madonna’s husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage which does not need saving).

“There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce.”
