angelina jolieAngelina Jolie’s obstetrician has denied that the actress has already given birth to her twins.

Rumours started circulating over the weekend that Angelina had given birth to the babies nearly two months prematurely at the end of last month but was keeping the birth a secret until the babies were stronger.

Yesterday a spokesperson for the Lenval Hospital in Nice confirmed that Angelina had checked in to their maternity wing and that she was “very well” but the status of the babies was not mentioned.

However, in a press conference this afternoon, Dr Michel Sussman said that Angelina still was pregnant - her admission was just a precautionary measure - and the twins would arrive “in the weeks to come”.

He added: “Everything is normal. She is very well, and she’s okay.

“It is simply a visit of surveillance, no birth. Brad and Angie want everyone to know that everything is going well.

“She will stay in the hospital until the birth. I will stay with her.”

Angelina’s partner Brad Pitt was spotted leaving the hospital early this morning with the couple’s existing daughters Zahara and Shiloh. The couple are said to have booked out four sea-facing rooms on the hospital’s fifth floor to ensure privacy and space for the girls, or their brothers Maddox & Pax, to stay over if desired on the run up to the birth.

The twins are thought to be due in August but Angelina is said to have been warned that they are likely to arrive early.
