christian baleThe Dark Knight star Christian Bale has said he’s quit the superhero franchise if the producers ever decide to reintroduce Batman’s sidekick Robin.

Robin was consistently appeared in the original comic book series but was left out of the movie releases in the early 1990s, only to reappear in the critically mauled Batman & Robin in 1997.

The new darker films - 2005’s Batman Begins and the forthcoming The Dark Knight - starring Christian behind the infamous mask have so far been Robin free and Christian has now said he’d like them to stay that way: “If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I’ll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work.”
