Holly Willoughby: people shouldn’t get so hung up on body image
Holly Willoughby has said she refuses to feel bad about showing off her curves.
The TV presenter’s decision to wear a series of low-cut dresses while hosting Dancing on Ice last year caused comment, with people suggesting the outfits were too revealing for such an early evening time slot.
However, she’s said she is “not going to wheel out the polo necks” or slim down for when she returns to television screens later this year, presenting The X Factor’s Xtra Factor on ITV2 because she’s proud of her figure.
She explained recently: “At 16 I was literally like a rake. Then as soon as I hit 17 my hips went ‘pang’, the boobs went ‘pang’.
“Why would I work out to get rid of something I’d literally been praying for?
“People are hung up on image, which I wish would stop.”
“If you want to gain or lose weight, do it. Want surgery? Do it. If I have a host of kids and find my boobs round my ankles, I wouldn’t think twice about having them lifted.”
