madonnaMadonna has issued her own statement denying divorce plans - and also denied that she is any way involved with New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez.

As the health of Madonna’s marriage to Guy Ritchie has come under suspicion, she is said to have developed a friendship with Rodriguez, known as A-Rod, through discussions about her Kabbalah faith - but sources claimed their contact was more romantic than spiritual. Rodriguez’s wife Cynthia is expected to file for divorce today, citing his repeated infidelity, with a rumoured fling with Madonna being the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

However, Madonna issued a statement on Saturday denying both the rumours: “My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I am not romantically involved in any way with him.

“I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may study.

She added: “I have learned over the years not to take accusations and the many false reports about me very seriously.”

Madonna and Guy were spotted together on Saturday night, taking their children - daughter Lourdes and sons Rocco & David - to a Kabbalah service in New York.
