Mamma Mia! is released in the UK this weekend and I suspect it’ll be a huge hit because it’s just so damn infectious. I’m a huge cynic when it comes to this type of thing but even I’m tempted to sack off work on Friday and head down to the cinema… :)

Having said that though, I think the ABBA-ness has just inspired me to watch the wonderful Muriel’s Wedding again - the success of which reportedly inspired the stage version of Mamma Mia!. It’s by no means a full-on perky, happy rom-com - in fact it’s dark and depressing in parts - but that’s what makes it so special. If you haven’t seen it, I’d fully recommend checking it out.
