The couple, who earlier in the year released duelling video “confessions” about flings with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, had been together for five years but sources close to the pair say the split was mutual.

The couple’s spokespeople confirmed the end of the relationship yesterday and added: “Jimmy and Sarah have and will have no further comment.”

Sarah, who presented last year’s MTV Video Music Awards, was spotted dining with a male friend in West Hollywood on Saturday and onlooker said she “looked like she was in good spirits”: “She was talking and it looked like he was listening and then advising her. This went on for around 20 minutes.”
