Miley Cyrus: I strive to be a good role model

Despite “scandalous” photo-shoots, Miley Cyrus has said she is adamant about being a positive role model for her younger fans.

She told TV Guide recently that she feels “empowered” whenever she sees a fan wearing a Hannah Montana t-shirt: “A girl wouldn’t be wearing a shirt with me on it just because she liked my show. She must look up to me.

“I want to be a positive role model. I don’t dwell on the negativity.”

She added that despite her borderline-risque photo sessions with male and female friends, she wear a purity ring and has pledged to wait until she has sex: “I like to think of myself as the girl that no one can get, that no one can keep in their hand.

“Even at my age, a lot of girls are starting to fall and I think if [abstaining] is a commitment girls make, that’s great.”
