A spokesperson for the couple confirmed the marriage occurred yesterday.

The couple of five years got engaged at New Year and when asked about their relationship in April, the Pop Idol turned Dancing on Ice star explained he was looking forward to married life: “The way I have been brought up, that’s what it’s about for me.

“It doesn’t suit everybody, but for me life is about marriage, lots of children, a massive house.

“If that’s what my life is like, I will be happy.”

The couple live together in a three-bedroom flat in south-west London.
